Emergency preparedness, response, and resilience forum
Westminster Insight’s timely Emergency preparedness, response, and resilience half-day forum is to be held on July 10, 2019 in London in the UK. It will feature Katherine Richardson of the Ministry of Housing, Communities and Local Government speaking on the government’s current emergency planning work, helping delegates to understand how tomaintain business continuity during major incidents from the Business in the Community network.
The expert panel will explore the role of multi-agency working in emergency preparedness and response and the importance of Local Resilience Forums, strong internal communication, and the integration of JESIP into services.
Principles and best practice will be shared for establishing effective communication during all stages of an emergency, and there will be guidance as to how to implement lessons from previous emergencies into business continuity planning.
The community resilience panel will feature insights from the Grenfell community response team and the Scottish Flood Forum. It will provide strategies for helping the community in the immediate and long-term aftermath of a major incident.
Delegates from local and central government, health, environmental health, transport, and the emergency services will attend to explore the variety of threats facing public services, in order to enhance their preparation in mitigating the impact on essential public services and achieve service resilience.
