Treating patients in low-income and war-torn countries
Leading NGO Emergency will hold its third Seminar on Surgery and Medicine in Venice, Italy on 3-5 May, 2017.
The aim of the seminar is to provide participants with the basic principles concerning the treatment of patients in low-income and war-torn countries. Participation in the seminar is open to medical professionals with little or no experience in practising in low-income countries.
The seminar is intended to be preparatory for any professional (General and Orthopaedic Surgeon, Anaesthetist, Internal Medicine Specialist, Cardiologist, Gynaecologist, Midwife, Paediatrician, Nurse, Biomedical Laboratory Technician) who wishes to join the Emergency team.
On Day 1 (Friday, May 5), all participants will attend a plenary session providing an overview of Emergency’s activities, hospital organisation and the basic medical and nursing principles of patient treatment. On Day 2 (Saturday, May 6), each participant will attend specific sessions focusing on the particular techniques and clinical management peculiar to his/her specialism. Emergency personnel with extensive field experience will give all lectures.
