Qu Guosheng

Guosheng Qu is Professor of Earth Sciences, Deputy Director of S&T Committee, and Former Chief Engineer of National Earthquake Response Support Service (NERSS), China Earthquake Administration (CEA).

Dr Qu is also Deputy General Team Leader of China International Search and Rescue Team and Vice president of The International Emergency Management Society (TIEMS). Director, Digital Disaster Mitigation and Emergency Management Research Centre, IDC, Peking University since 2009. He is an Expert on the IAP disaster mitigation group and on the Integrated Research on Disaster Risk Programme, at the ICSU Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific, as well as a global expert for the UNDP on disaster mitigation.

Dr Qu is a Standing Committee Member, Special Committee for Risk Analysis and Crisis Management under China Disaster Prevention and Mitigation and an Expert on the Comprehensive Disaster Research Group supervised by Ministry of Science & Technology. He has a PhD in Structural Geology and Tectonics, Department of Geology, Peking University, an MSc in Structural Geology and Tectonics, Institute of Geology, the Chinese Academy of Geological Sciences (CAGS) and a BSc in Structural Geology, Department of Geology, Peking University, China.
