CRJ’s advisor, Matthew Porcelli, joins world’s leading security experts
As security and life safety challenges continue to evolve, industry expertise and informed leadership remain essential in helping organisations navigate growing risks. CRJ’s Advisory Panel member, Matthew Porcelli, has been recognised as one of the Life Safety Alliance’s (LSA) Top 40 Global Thought Leaders in security and life safety for 2026.

The annual recognition celebrates professionals whose work is helping shape the future of the security and life safety industry through leadership, innovation, education, research, and public engagement. The list brings together practitioners, technology and service providers, researchers, and academics from 13 countries across six continents.
This year’s cohort reflects both established leadership and emerging voices, with 13 honourees recognised for the third consecutive year (including Porcelli), 14 returning for a second year, and 14 individuals making their first appearance on the list. “Some of our honourees have built decades of visibility in this industry, while others are only now stepping into that role. If you’re doing work that’s moving this industry forward, whether that’s on a stage, in a courtroom, or on a podcast, we encourage you to participate,” said Becky Lane, CEO of LSA.
The selection process also introduced two new evaluation categories for 2026: Expert Witness, recognising professionals who provide specialised testimony in litigation, insurance, or investigations; and Legislative and Regulatory Testimony, honouring those who influence policy through formal testimony before legislative bodies, regulatory agencies, or standards organisations.
Final rankings were determined using LSA’s proprietary scoring methodology, which considers a broad range of professional contributions, including conference presentations, webinar appearances, articles, academic instruction, awards and honours, and volunteer leadership. More than 200 industry leaders were invited to submit evidence supporting their nominations following a review of hundreds of professionals across the global security and life safety sector.
